About us
Els Pescadors is a family story linked to the Port of Llançà, to seafood cuisine, and to a way of understanding gastronomy that has evolved generation after generation. From the legacy of its founders to the current vision of Lluís Fernández Punset and Maria Àngels Fernández, the restaurant keeps its roots alive while continuing to write its own story.
- We cook territory, we serve culture -
A story that begins by the sea
In the late 1970s, the Fernández-Punset family took over an old fishermen's tavern in Port de Llançà. Anna Maria Punset began preparing the first dishes, accompanied by Lluís Fernández Soler, a professional chef with extensive knowledge of seafood cuisine. This shared passion laid the foundation for Els Pescadors and a style of cooking closely linked to the sea and the local area.
Memory, craft and a unique perspective
Lluís Fernández Punset grew up in the kitchens of Els Pescadors, learning seafood cuisine from his father. After training at the Barcelona School of Hospitality, he expanded his experience in kitchens such as El Celler de Can Roca, ABAC, Akelarre, Le Fox, and Relaix Fleuri, before returning home. His cuisine draws on memories and the flavors of the Empordà region, incorporating techniques and influences acquired throughout his career, always keeping his roots in mind.
The people who give life to Els Pescadors
Over the years, the team at Els Pescadors has built a relationship that goes beyond day-to-day work. Kitchen and front of house work hand in hand to ensure every service is perfect and to maintain the warm, welcoming atmosphere that is so integral to the restaurant's character. Lluís Fernández Punset and Pepe Hernández in the kitchen, Maria Àngels Fernández and Stephane Barrabes in the front of house, along with sommelier Xavier Rodríguez, form part of a team where everyone contributes to creating the unique Els Pescadors experience.
